What to do if the Philips EasyKey prompts "System Lock-up"?

As a smart security device at the entrance, Philips EasyKey has gradually become the choice of many families. However, when the smart lock prompts a "System Lock-up" alert, which fails to continue to operate, many users will believe that the smart lock is broken and even unlock violently. And many uses also have the following doubts.

"The naughty kid always swipes the key tag, which causes the system to be locked up and fails to unlock the door. What should I do to turn off the alert?"

"The elderly have serious peeling fingers in the past few days. After repeated identification failures, the smart door lock prompts a 'System lock-up' alert. Is it broken?"

Actually, during the daily use of smart door locks, multiple verification failures would cause the smart lock system to lock up and trigger the alert. This is the system lock-up function of Philips EasyKey. What is the function of this alert? Does the system lock-up mean the smart door lock can't be used?

1. What is the "System Lock-up" alert

As we all know, the mobile phone would also be locked if we enter incorrect lock screen passwords multiple times. Philips EasyKey also has the system lock-up alert function, which is also named a trial and error alarm.

Within 5 minutes, if you enter the wrong fingerprint, PIN code or key tag, etc. for 5 consecutive times, the smart door lock would voice prompts "system lock-up" and lock for 3 minutes. Then, no matter the fingerprint, PIN code, or other unlocking methods, the door lock can not be unlocked.

2. What's the function of the "System lock-up" alert?

The system lock-up function comes from multiple verification failures, because it triggers the trial and error protection function of the smart door lock. This function is mainly designed to prevent those who have ulterior motives from attempting to unlock the door by cracking the fingerprint or PIN code. Thus, as long as the unlocking verification has failed more than 5 times, the system lock-up alert would be triggered, which effectively deters abnormal behaviors and minimizes hidden dangers as well.

Moreover, the Philips EasyKey that supports the Internet connection will also upload and send alarm messages to APP. The remote real-time alert, allows us to get to know the abnormal situation at the front door in time.

3. What if the system is locked up?

If the smart lock is locked due to inattentive operation, you don’t need to be panic, and find a locksmith to violently break it. The smart door lock could automatically restore to normally unlock after 3 minutes. Then, you can unlock the door by fingerprint or PIN code.

Sometimes, however, a system lock-up alert can be the result of an electronic function malfunction. Under this situation, the mechanical key plays a key role in emergency unlocking. Therefore, the mechanical key equipped with the Philips EasyKey had better not be stored at home. It is recommended to store it in the car, office or relatives and friends’ homes.

System lock-up alert gives you more sense of security. In addition, Philips EasyKey also employs multiple alerts such as low-level battery alert, anti-dismantling alert, outside forced lock and abnormal latch bolt alert.
